Muslim boy 14 arrested by police in Taxas after his homemade clock was mistaken for a bomb


The social media was set ablaze with the
hashtag #IStandwithAhmed after a 14 year old Ahmed Mohamed was arrested for bringing his home made clock into MacArthur High School in
Irving to show his engineering teacher who congratulated him.

Another teacher who heard it’s beeping sound during class, saw it and
believed it looked like a bomb, alerted school authorities who called
the police.

The homemade clock consisted of a circuit board with wires leading to a
digital display. Later in the day the boy was pulled out of class and
interviewed by the school’s headteachers and four police officers. A
head teacher also threatened to expel him if he did not write a
statement. He was later led out in handcuffs and put into juvenile
detention. He was however released to meet his parents after he was
